Music Theory Lessons
Many music students taking ABRSM exams reach Grade 5 performance and suddenly realise that they need to pass Grade 5 Theory before they can progress any further (exam-wise) on their chosen instrument.
In particular this can be quite daunting to musicians who are not familiar with multiple clefs, or chord structures - it can feel like a lot to learn and for some can seem like a blocker to their progress.
I offer both Grade 5 specific lessons for those who have passed or are currently working towards Grade 5 on their instrument, or longer-term lessons for students working at around Grade 3 standard, where we can work at a slower pace, potentially sitting some or all of Grade 1 -4 Theory exams, before tackling Grade 5.
Pricing
I offer lessons with no commitment or block booking required.
For those wishing to take a longer-term approach, or younger pupils, I suggest 30 minute lessons each week to start with as this means we can focus on understanding smaller topics before moving on.
For those at Grade 5 standard, or those who need to pass their exam more quickly, I recommend 1 hour sessions. The amount of lessons required completely depends on the existing knowledge level of the pupil, but I can advise on this after our first lesson.
I offer a taster session with no commitment to ensure the student enjoys the lesson, for us to get to know one another and for me to assess their current level.
If you decide to go ahead, I will recommend book(s), which are not included in the pricing below.
30 minute lessons: £15
1 hour lesson: £25
30 minute taster session: £10
